Time Management

<Active Wall> allows the administrator to set a time period when each rule will be applied.

The above quote is from the manual
Please explain what rule is?

It means the policies of that group or time period.

Thanks but that means nothing
The manual appears to be written by people who know the product for people who know the product

Sorry, the user manual in english was translated from other language.
For more details about the policy, please refer to user manual [Chapter 4 System administration/4.10. Policy management] and [Chapter 5 Plug-in operation].

Unfortunately those sections only explain how to set a policy, not what a policy actually is.
I understand the translation issues but a user manual should explain everything in full.

I have tried using wireshark on my laptop and that is capturing plenty of traffic from a variety of machines on my LAN when attached to this hub.
