Can I use AW to block traffic between workstations on the LAN? For example, can I block access to public folders in a Windows Workgroup?

Yes, Active Wall can be configured to block traffic between workstations.
Example:
1.Install Active Wall on computer A, and select single mode.
2.Select menu [Config/Plugin List], double click item [Port Filter].
3.Select group [Default], set default policy with [pass], and then add udp 137-138, tcp 139 in exclude list.

Now computer A can not access other computer's public folders.
